Barbecue Roasted Salmon and Parsley Rice, two recipes for diabetics

If you are looking for another way to prepare salmon, salmon roasted give this an attempt to barbecue. This recipe is ideal for diabetics and others. Surprise your family and your friends with this different recipe. Serve with parsley rice is also suitable for diabetics because it has a high protein levels of carbohydrates. Both dishes should be cooked, but you can cook rice and grilled salmon, while the rice dish for a few minutes. Complete your meal with your favorite salad and a light dessert.

BBQ Roasted Salmon

1 / 8 cup water + 1 / 8 cup unsweetened pineapple juice

2 tablespoons lemon juice

4 salmon fillets (6 oz a)

1 tablespoon Splenda Brown Sugar Blend

4 teaspoons chili powder

2 v. teaspoon lemon zest

3 / 4 teaspoon ground cumin

1 / 2 teaspoon salt

1 / 4 c. teaspoon ground cinnamon

Vegetable cooking spray

Thin lemon slices, optional

Combine the water mixture of pineapple, lemon juice, and salmon fillets in a plastic bag with zipper, seal and let marinate in refrigerator 1 hour, turning occasionally.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Remove steaks from bag and discard marinade. In a bowl, Mix the Splenda, chili powder, lemon zest, cumin, salt and cinnamon. Brush fish. Place fish in a 7 x 11 inch baking dish sprayed with cooking spray. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes or until fish flakes easily with fork. Serve with neighborhoods lemon for garnish, if desired.

Note: I adapted this recipe from one I found in an old cooking magazine.

PARSLEY RICE

2 cups hot cooked rice that is cooked without salt or butter added

2 green onions

1 clove garlic, minced

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 cups skim milk

8 oz package shredded cheese low fat of your choice (I like Mexican mix)

1 cup chopped fresh parsley

1 / 4 cup egg substitute

1 / 4 c. teaspoon salt

1 / 8 c. teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray skillet with nonstick cooking spray 1/2-qt, set aside.

Sauté onions and garlic in butter until tender. Combine rice, sauteed vegetables, milk, cheese, parsley, egg substitute, salt and pepper, if desired. Mix well. Pour into a casserole dish and bake for 45 minutes.

Notes: You can make this healthy recipe using brown rice. As mentioned earlier this recipe has a ratio of 10 g protein and 13 grams of carbs per half cup.

Full board Cakes ….. you can find phyllo cakes in the freezer section of dough cakes or desserts (I found them at Walmart) theres 15 for packaging or box 2 should be sufficient … Fill each tart flavored with fresh whip or I can mix 1 / 2 can cherry pie (canned) with a bath of cool whip and complete … I also used to load too puddings … You can bake cakes for a minimum of 10 to serve the right the box, your choice. (I prefer the oven) =)
