So I think of barbecue wings for the Super Bowl is that it is okay to take my wings frozen in a mud pan, covered with barbecue sauce, soak and cook for 6-8 hours?

I want to cook until done first, then put in the pan with barbecue sauce. If you go directly into the pot will become soggy and gross and there is a puddle of liquid chicken.
