Leandro is an excellent school system, affordable living, great nature and proximity to Austin. Not are about 30,000 people living in Leander.
Leander ISD is one of the school districts of the fastest growing in the nation. The neighborhood currently 21 primary schools, with admission to the fall of 2009. Six secondary schools and four secondary schools serving high schools, more each opening in fall 2010. There are also two alternative schools to serve the neighborhood. Six of these schools were judged best by the Texas Education Agency.

Leandro is close to nature, including lakes, hills and wildlife. Leandro City operates four parks have a variety of services including soccer, softball, pavilions, walking and biking, a BMX track, a skate park, disc golf, fishing landscape gaming, baseball fields, a swimming pool, a barbecue, a basketball court and an amphitheater. Lake Travis, a huge boating lake, is also nearby. Crystal Falls Golf Course, an 18-hole course, located in Leander.
Leander also has a state library Art and society live theater. The Parks Department has several programs and events throughout the year.
Austin Capital Metro is currently working on commuter trains first connection Leander to downtown Austin. There the 32 miles of track on the new trains to transport people every 30 minutes in the morning and evening peak hours. Will consist of nine stations and railways will start connector bus to transfer passengers to their destination final.
